Andy Bacon is Culinary Development Innovation Manager for Heinz Foodservice Europe. Classically trained he progressed from full time catering college in Weston Super Mare to embark on a colourful and challenging career path through restaurants, hotels and contract catering. He then decided that food manufacturing was an area he wanted to explore and earned a role as Development Chef at the UK’s No1 Chilled Sauce and Soup Manufacturer. After a five year career in various roles there, Andy decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Heinz, where he was offered a key role in the product development of the now embedded Foodservice sauces range. Since then Andy has developed a number of successful products that span both foodservice and retail in UK & European Markets, one of these ranges being Heinz Hot Sauces, a recent Silver Medal Winner in Germany at the Produkt des Jahres awards for condiments and spices. More recently he has collaborated with the retail team on a number of high profile product launches and continues to play a key role is driving the culinary and innovation agenda for Heinz
Andy currently resides in the West Country with his wife, their two children and pedigree Bengal cat. Andy loves travelling, food (naturally), BBQ’ing and sport in addition to the great outdoors!
